They shared drugs. He died. Is she a killer? As overdose deaths mount, prosecutors have been charging friends and relatives with murder.https://nyti.ms/2KTs587

100% agree. Prison for profit is a colossal conflict of interest.

This is so wrong! Our prisons are full to overflowing. The prosecution fees, prison costs far better spent on rehab rather than imprisonment. This is a merciless prosecution of a disease. Arrest the dealer, not family member!

Prison was supposed to be a rehab, but USA fucked it up. Take example of scandanavian countries for prisons.

2 adult addicts decided to do drugs. His choice caused his death. Her choice didn't kill her. See how she's not the killer? They both chose for themselves. If it were proven that she made him, that is a different story altogether.

One could argue that her providing of the narcotics caused a dependence --> his death. Not saying its a good argument, but its there.

Without consent and with intention to do harm. Otherwise it’s involuntary manslaughter AT BEST. This kind of policy is completely tone deaf to the sentiment shared by most Americans that non violent offenders shouldn’t be clogging up our prison system, often being made violent.
