        So the kid the QB after the throw. Poor sportsmanship. But does it really need national coverage? It’s been the topic of many talk shows in Japan... Japanese media never hesitates to associate anything American in a negative light. Rugby is far worse in terms of injuries.

        the pt i got from reading the news in japanese is all about the power harrasement. player was threatened by his superior to play dirty. and player admitted following it. coach flatly denied instructing him so after looooooong silent.

        I see your point. However, I feel this could and should of been handled at the university level. There are for more important stories that the Japanese media could cover. That’s my opinion anyway.

        They play violent video games in Japan too. But a violent hit in a football game unleashes weeks of discussion and resignations. In the US we forget about mass shootings and violent murders of kids within days.

        I was just in Japan, this was headline story in every sports news segment. It was interesting how it was covered. They fuzzed out the name and number on the back of the Jersey of the player who made the hit.
