Burrowing owls are disappearing in a Silicon Valley park. Public records and snooping led to Google and its cat-loving employees.https://nyti.ms/2ILYz7M

I LOVE cats. But this whole "trap, neuter, release" of feral cats makes no sense to me. They're instinctive hunters, decimating wildlife. Not part of natural ecosystem. Negligent HUMANS w domesticated pet cats abandon them, let them out. #StopMakingStrays

...and these released feral cats mostly end up living short, miserable lives due to parasites, poison, accidents, elements, you name it. Average lifespan: less than a year. People who let their cats roam, then cry when they're lost? Sorry. It's your fault.

Cats will kill them every time. This is an ongoing problem in FL, too.

Domestic cats are natural predators, & their impact on wild bird populations is well known. If owners want to let their cats roam, they should purchase available bright color or noisy collars to defeat cats' ability to stalk & surprise.

cats are still able to stalk and kill with those collars on. best solution is to basically keep all cats indoor and have adopt/euthanasia programs for feral cats. theres simply too many of them at this point

Once, at dusk, I discovered a Burrowing owl perched inside my house. She/he stared me down, eyes fierce as a Great Horned. I poured a glass of wine, went outside, and waited for her to leave.

Google should be fined for this. It is our responsibility to preserve and protect wildlife.

Jfc, are these people insane? Feral cats need to be euthanized, the damage they do to native wildfire is just devastating. These nerds might be computer smart, but they need to lean some real-life lessons.

I love Burrowing owls. They are such interesting birds and remind me just how diverse owls as species truly are. Unlike other family members, they make their homes on the ground.
