Really? Could this be more demeaning and patronizing? “Sorry ‘bout the whole slavery and Jim Crow and prison industrial complex and getting shot for existing while black thing—have a margarita on me! We good now?”

Who will pay me for my Great Great Grandfather's feet lost to frostbite during the seige of Petersburg? He fought to free the slaves! Whites banned from event is another example of reverse racism.

There is no such thing as reverse racism. It is just regular racism.

True. But New York Times help perpetuate the myth that lets racists get away with being racists as long as the racists aren't white.

Oh my god this is so stupid. None of the black people at this bar were slaves. None of the white people were slave owners. I’m Jewish but I’m not going to go ask German’s who had nothing to do with the holocaust to start paying for my drinks.

Sure. Give me a free drink instead of making strides to fixing systemic oppression that would pay me as equally as a man so I wouldn’t need your measly $10. Sounds like a great plan. 😒

Classic victim mentality. It's a proven fact that holding on to negative past events will hinder the mental state of a person, now imagine a community. The effects are clearly seen and there is no denying it, but sure keep asking for "reparations" and watch how nothing changes.

This makes absolutely no sense. My son had a great great great grandmother who was a slave. After just 4 generations of breeding with white people he appears white. He would be laughed at asking for reparations but would deserve them I suppose. The opposite can be found as well.

There is not a white-majority neighborhood in Portland that black people cannot walk through in peace. But there are black-majority neighborhoods that are dangerous for white people even in the day time, let alone at night.

Really? I've lived in Portland right on PSU campus. Never experienced more hipster passive aggressive racism by whites in my whole life. Wish I knew were the black neighborhoods were 😂
