Yes! And the farmed land can be made more hospitable to all forms of life, by converting to organic practices & adding diverse hedgerows. Can still farm as monoculture to exploit economies of scale, but under/cover-cropping & hedgerows can make farming more biologically diverse.

some billionaires ought to pool their money together, buy some farmlands, and turn them into corporate-sponsored rainforests; nobody else is going to solve a problem caused by greed for money, other than people of whom already have lots (or is throwing money at it a bad idea?)

The solution is to stop industrialised agriculture. The solution is to stop predatory Transnational corporations from "capturing" farmlands & destroying food bowls in developing nations. The solution is for western nations to STFU. The solution is NOT a Malthusian ideology.
