Everyone is congress should be audited as well. This has occurred too much.

This happened to a congresscritter of mine, whom I liked, but come on. She went from middle-class to Alexandria mansion rich.

A good friend of mine used to be very high up in homeland security. He said both sides of the aisles were taking 5K and 10K for votes years ago. He got out of politics and went into academia instead.

Hmm, well, I think there would be SOME oversight if it were so naked as that. I’m thinking of bribes like free trips and quietly paid schools, etc.

Obama made $100M while President.

Mitch, Clinton’s, Pelosi, Obama, and Maxine W. all have gotten rich off of holding office. Regardless of party we should be able to see where their income is coming from. I wish my investment portfolio increased by 1000% a year. Crazy how that works...

You can tell it is a corrupt imperial system of government when the public officials grew fabulously rich through their posts. This applies across party lines, for those inclined to what-aboutisms.

A long time ago, Alexander Hamilton resigned his position as Secretary of the Treasury because he couldn't support his family anymore. He had to quit public service and return to his law practice to make ends meet. Such a turn of affairs is almost unimaginable today.
