Common Sense was published anonymously. The Federalist Papers were published under a shared pseudonym. Many of the Founding Fathers were publishing broadsides against one another from time to time under pseudonyms. It's as American as apple pie.

That's not to say it's good or bad (I'm biased on that q obv); it's just part of who we are. imho the problem w/ the anon op-ed and book author is that they continued serving in the admin despite their views, but if you believe the reporting that's a much more widespread thing.

On balance I do think they should go public and resign. But I was encouraged that they refused an advance and are donating “majority of profits” to charities that support gov’t transparency and accountability. (I’ll want to see #’s but at least it’s nominally not about profit…)

It would be if he had published anything interesting under the pseudonym. lurking in the replies seems more modern.

This argument might be more effective if the GOP were not so thoroughly divorced from Common Sense.
