We must continue to fight against the surveillance + civil rights abuses faced by AMEMSA communities and all NYers. To dive further into our NY-centered timeline that shows the repression + resistance that has in many ways defined the last 20 years, visit

If city and state leaders don't work together to release people immediately, the crisis at Rikers will worsen, and more people will die. Decarcerate now.

NYC district attorneys + judges can keep people out of Rikers by not setting bail costs that keeps people trapped behind bars because they can't afford to pay. Being unable to afford bail shouldn't be a death sentence.

Here's how NY can intervene at Rikers: ✔️At the state level, Gov. Hochul can sign - a bill that would stop the practice of locking people up for technical parole violations - into law. ✔️At the city level, Mayor de Blasio can release those serving city sentences.

Good. We’re glad that the is joining the fight to restore Texans’ access to constitutionally protected abortion care. The NJ Legislature can take it a step further by protecting and expanding access to reproductive health care, including abortion.

"New York’s election laws are full of archaic, inefficient, and voter suppressive provisions." -, NYCLU voting rights attorney. Our state shouldn't be making it harder to vote. It's beyond time for comprehensive election reform in NY.

"New York needs to give bail reform a chance to succeed. Albany should also revive the Less Is More Act, which would prevent people on parole from being sent to jail for technical violations."

The NYPD’s Strategic Response Group shouldn’t be using violence to force people protesting police violence off the street.  The streets belong to the people.

David Gilbert, and other elderly NYers who have spent half their lives behind bars, deserve their freedom. No one swept up in NY's carceral system should be forced to grow old and die in prison w/o regard to how they behaved while incarcerated. We must pass Elder Parole now.

We forever say 's name & lift up his life! Today, 9/15, is Eric's 51st birthday. We celebrate him & stand with his family, who have been fighting for 7+ years to hold all who killed him & NYPD and City officials who covered it up accountable.

Pssst: say ‘anti-abortion’ instead of ‘pro-life.’ ‘Pro-life’ is a term anti-abortion activists coined to stigmatize abortion. Don’t fall for it.

We've seen countless horrific videos of the aggression and escalation that comes with NYPD's Strategic Response Group. The SRG's presence at protests threatens expression + assembly in NYC. Be prepared to expose + challenge their violence by filming:

630,000 New Yorkers, adults and children, are U.S. citizens that live with an undocumented immigrant. Families shouldn't be stuck in limbo because of inaction on immigration justice. Families belong together. We need a pathway to citizenship, now.
