    All the domestic advancements that the authors attribute to war—women's suffrage, "increased spending on science, infrastructure, and social services"—could be better enjoyed if they weren't yoked to an empire that grinds workers into meat.

    We don't want a common enemy with American oligarchs, spooks, and war profiteers. We need class struggle, not "shared sacrifice."

    I wonder how many progressives believe that entering into an intense security competition with China will work to benefit their domestic agenda rather than fuel xenophobia, racism, and militarism (and risk world war).

    This is what fascism looks like. Unidentified cops targeted a co-chair on the way to a BLM rally & kidnapped him to try & extract information on other local activists.

    NEW: Unidentified cops tossed a protester into an unmarked van in Spokane. The arrest of Jeremy Logan — co-chair of his local — appears politically-motivated, by a sheriff hostile to "antifa." In jail, feds tried to interview Jeremy.

    reminds us of the 1967 Cleveland Summit where Black athletes came together in solidarity with Muhammad Ali's anti-war activism. Muhammad Ali sacrificed his entire boxing career and went to prison to protest the Vietnam War.

    Or, if you are actually honest, you know it began with a criminal US invasion & occupation that destroyed millions of lives. But sure, it's fun to conveniently start history wherever you want to push a gross false equivalence that obscures white supremacy & police violence.

    In Iraq it began with looting, eventually evolved into lawlessness, then organized sectarian gangs offering protections to their respective sides, which eventually became full blown civil war It only took 2 years. Societal order collapses much faster than many of us think

    The only stunning thing about this list is the bipartisan commitment to continuing unpopular forever wars.

    Seeing in print in the this list of Republican national security officials endorsing Biden is really something. This is basically every GOP luminary of the last 30 years, saying “enough” to Trump. Stunning, really.
