What's so funny about School-to-Prison pipeline? Kindergarten Cop-Out: Tell @nwfilmcenter there’s nothing fun in cops traumatizing kids. National reckoning on overpolicing is a weird time to revive Kindergarten Cop. IRL, we are trying to end school-to-prison pipeline.

There’s nothing entertaining about the presence of police in schools, which feeds the “school-to-prison” pipeline in which African American, Latinx, and other kids of color are criminalized rather than educated.

5- and 6-year-olds are handcuffed and hauled off to jail routinely in this country. And this criminalizing of children increases dramatically when cops are assigned to work in schools. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/handcuffed-5-year-old-sparks-suit/ … https://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/crime/os-ne-orlando-police-body-camera-6-year-old-arrest-20200224-rlg2ukttdvhehpoj2ki7irqe74-story.html …

We are thrilled to be able to offer another opportunity to share this important story with an even larger audience, and we thank our distribution partners Magnolia Pictures and director Dawn Porter for enabling us to bring this inspiring film to Portland.

The additional showing on August 6 replaces Kindergarten Cop, which had been chosen for its importance in Oregon filmmaking history.

After discussion with staff and community members, however, we agreed that at this moment in history, John Lewis: Good Trouble is the right film to open this year’s Drive-In series.

By doing this, This nwfilm center just lost a lot customers for the summer. Amazing how you easily crumbled. Thanks @LoisLeveen. Only a snowflake would make a comment comparing Kindergarten cop with Gone with the wind.

No, not Gone With the Wind, Birth of a Nation. Because THAT is definitely comparable to this lighthearted 90s comedy.

Geezus, kowtowing to Lois who blocks her tweets. What a joke. Imagine how many heads would explode by playing the original Bad News Bears. That movie is a 1000x worse than Kindergarten Cop. Wait, it’s because Arnold is a republican.

Man I am really getting tired of this non sense. These people ruin and destroy. Since when does one person get to change things that 99% of people never had an issue with?

She clearly never saw the film and YOU are Un-American for caving. The film is about the protection of a child, there is NO “school to prison” overtures. What’s next, the Wizard of Oz because the Munchkins were oppressed or Willie Wonka for his enslaving of the Umpa Loompas?
