Public Record Act requests for emails to SFPD station captains since March ‘20 suggest differently. They show residents demanding more police involvement (not a single one asks for less) - to handle the huge amount of antisocial behavior and outright criminality.

I'm sorry but you'll not convince me that a person who lives in an apartment building deserves more help than the person who lives in the gutter — I've had homeless people live in my abandoned neighbor house and you know what I did? I checked to see if they needed anything

Because I'm not a horrible person, I care for my unhoused neighbors. I let them know that I'm there if they need help. I ask them to keep things clean and let them use my trash can. I give them leftover food
