With people scam callers I'll say, 'hang on a minute, the kettle is boiling I'll be right back...' I then put the phone down and walk off. If they are still there when I come back (after I've made a cuppa) I'll talk for a second and then say, 'there's someone at the door...'

I was offered a free computer, so I asked some very direct questions about how the computer price is factored in to this amazing telecommunications deal, that it wasn't so cheap at all, and basically wore the guy down so much that he finally burst into laughter and hung up.

I wonder in this era of smart technology, how would the authorities across the globe just let theses scammers do what they want and insist the potential victims just to effectively ignore this!!! The criminals must be brought to justice !!!

The sad thing (many more I know) is a robotic voice on the phone is scarey for many elderly. My 93 yo aunt took a robo call on her ‘private’ land line. She tried to answer and eventually hung up shaking in fear and anger. How appalling!
