Good news from Illinois, where 55,000 people will get their driver's licenses back under a new law ending license suspensions for unpaid tickets for many non-moving violations. This is a significant step toward stopping the cycle of poverty and punishment.

In Pennsylvania, counties are charging incarcerated people millions of $$ in fees for "room and board." : "We as a society decided to put them there, and then we’ve told them to pay for it? It's egregious on so many levels."

BEING BROKE IS NOT A CRIME. People shouldn’t be trapped in the criminal justice system because they aren’t able to afford their probation fines & fees. Let’s pass smart probation reform and and put an end to this economic injustice in Pennsylvania.

I love the legal issues raises. Watching latest episode addressing court costs and restitution and how they violate 8th amendment. They might not get everything right but putting these important issues in mainstream media is so important.
