I love this anecdote, in part because it reflects a lesson that I think I only learned in the last year. The standard advice for dealing with being overwhelmed is to cut back on things. Sometimes the answer is to cut back on meaningless things and *add* something meaningful.

😂^ here’s an anecdote that FASCINATES me: Pressfield describes being broke & miserable, & how he spent 2hrs writing (which he immediately trashed!), and how that creative act gave him the energy to do dishes he’d put off for 10 days!!! This sort of thing is underappreciated IMO
