I am a very honest person who viscerally dislikes lying, but there are a few cases where I actively advocate for it, and they're all a form of this: You should lie to people with power over you who will unjustly punish you for the truth.

"I always cooperate" is virtuous in non-iterated games, but in iterated games you shouldn't cooperate with repeat defectors.

Yeah, but the are often ways to not cooperate that don't involve lying. Some of them are much more satisfying.
