Or fewer people needing to google the term to find out what it means?

deep learning is like .com/ the web around 2000. Everyone and their dog is doing "ai" now and there are a few http://pets.com / http://em.tv companies that are helplessly overhyped. But also the potential for a new google and amazon that will change the world.

@fchollet how your stats look like? I think last time I heard from you it flattened, but didn’t decay, right? -
DL usage was still increasing at a good pace until Covid hit. Stats did decay during the Covid crash (nothing too dire), but are starting to trend upwards again now. In general search queries aren't a good proxy for tech usage (try plotting "database" to convince yourself...)

Or a more informed on average population googling specific DL-related terms rather than DL itself?
-
Which could easily be verified / disproved by checking other terms I guess

I noticed that too, after updating a slide comparing SVM and deep learning :-)

What I find in most client engagements (at enterprise clients), there was a huge interest in
#deeplearning in 2018-2019, but now they are mostly using#machinelearning and that too simpler methods. Kaggle#AI survey confirms this too.Kiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa

It feels like DL has become synonymous with "AI" these days. Or else people are more specific in their searches e.g.: specific DL algorithms

Less „interest“ or just less business due to corona?
