I wish Google Maps had a "I'm walking home by myself at night" mode that would show you a way with well lit paths and open spaces. It always seems to take you on narrow, dark pathways in cities

Same for accessible routes. It doesn’t mention if a route involves e.g. a footbridge over a railway line. You only find out when you’re pushing a buggy that you have to completely retrace your steps and find an alternate route.

Yeah I figure people in wheelchairs back then didn't go far without aides or personal vehicles Abled people had various foldout maps, but they didn't tell you which parts night be dangerous. So either they didn't take a chance, or they risked ending up like Batman's parents.
