    These folk are trying to make the REF less pointless. I'm actually fine with trying to measure awesomeness: but good grief the REF is a silly time sucking mess.

    Enter the competition and help us uncover research outputs and roles that are vital to research but lack recognition: The Hidden REF is a volunteer-led campaign to raise awareness of the variety of research. 300 word submissions by 14th May.

    Why 300 words? A submission for the Hidden REF is 300 words in length, which just happens to be the length of this tweet thread. In 300 words you can describe why a research output is important or how a person has helped you.

    I see that we are talking about "Hypocrite Commits" again and I want to clarify a few things. Despite what their paper says they didn't get an IRB-exemption until *after* they posted about their IEEESP paper acceptance and a group of researchers (inc myself) expressed concern...

    To follow up on this. I co-signed a letter with a number of other researchers expressing concern to regarding the ethics research of this research. A letter from the authors of the study can now be found here:
