@RepDustyJohnson, @SenJohnThune , @SenatorRounds I ask you congressman of South Dakota to step up and get this done. As a Marine, we all were impacted on 9/11. These first responders gave their all... give them ours. Send my tax money for this not golf tours and family vacations

Dion, I’m a co-sponsor of the bill and have been lobbying my colleagues in the House on its behalf.

Excellent!

The world needs more Jon Stewart's to step up and put governments to task
-
"We" should be stepping up and making "our government" accountable! That's how a democracy works. Sitting on the sidelines has us where we are today.
-
Absolutely 100% agree. I do my bit here in the UK as our politics is following a similar path to the US.
-
Same here in Australia too ...
-
same here in France, but there still is our blessed social security to take care of sickness without people paying individually for their care. And I am proud to contribute to it monthly as every worker of the country.

Moved me to tears, he’s so right. Our heroes deserve this and the fact that the government wants to take it away disgusts me
-
I confess I shed a few tears as well.

I'm Canadian and it got to me! Well said Jon Stewart!
-
Me too and I stand for the first responders getting everything they ever need after what they did to save as many people as they could on that fateful day

Comedians have been doing the heavy lifting for our democracy lately. Sam B, John Oliver, Adam Conover, Stephen Colbert, Kimmel, Jon Stewart, and others have been informing the public & advocating for all American's health, safety and wellbeing because news and politicians won't.
-
Good point. It’s been the same in the UK about this Brexit shitpond. Comedians have provided some of the most effective & challenging interventions in the debate.

Thats kinda the case in Germany too. Entertainers and comedians seem to be the voice of reason these days. Its kind of sad tbh
-
The same is happening in India as well...comedians have become journalists stating facts and figures in their performances rather than journalists who have unfortunately become comedians and debate on useless issues.

I’m starting to wonder why the rest of the world listens to the USA. It’s not superior, it’s not compassionate, it’s not for their people, it’s not out to make the world a better place, it’s just a money hungry nation who bullies everyone to make their next
$B. -
Because the USA has the terrible habit of sabotaging or straight up bombing anyone not on their side, or even remotely displaying some sign of grievance or competition.
-
As an American, I can confirm this is accurate.

America is the Land of The Orange Oligarch.

This policy goes back waaaaaay before trump was even born.
