"We" should be stepping up and making "our government" accountable! That's how a democracy works. Sitting on the sidelines has us where we are today.

Absolutely 100% agree. I do my bit here in the UK as our politics is following a similar path to the US.

Comedians have been doing the heavy lifting for our democracy lately. Sam B, John Oliver, Adam Conover, Stephen Colbert, Kimmel, Jon Stewart, and others have been informing the public & advocating for all American's health, safety and wellbeing because news and politicians won't.

Thats kinda the case in Germany too. Entertainers and comedians seem to be the voice of reason these days. Its kind of sad tbh

The same is happening in India as well...comedians have become journalists stating facts and figures in their performances rather than journalists who have unfortunately become comedians and debate on useless issues.

I’m starting to wonder why the rest of the world listens to the USA. It’s not superior, it’s not compassionate, it’s not for their people, it’s not out to make the world a better place, it’s just a money hungry nation who bullies everyone to make their next $B.

Because the USA has the terrible habit of sabotaging or straight up bombing anyone not on their side, or even remotely displaying some sign of grievance or competition.

As an American, I can confirm this is accurate.
