I feel genuine sympathy for those who favour brinksmanship as a means of managing their own psychology as I have been there before.
However it occurs to me that it's already been said by Maslow. And that those criticisms were made previously by Fritz Perls.

It's normal for people to reinvent concepts and connote them with high-status narratives for their own purposes.
