I'm so outraged rn 
that my friend Patricia, a DV survivor, after 15 yrs of incarceration was transferred to Aurora ICE detention. Not only will she be deported in a matter of mths to Belize, separated from her family, she now is COVID-19 positive! ICE transfers needs to stop.
One has to be heartless to not care about the transfer of ppl within prisons & to ICE detentions. Do they not comprehend that ppl's lives are at grave risks of contracting COVID-19. Ppl's lives are not indispensable just b/c of their conviction & status. I'm so piss! I'm crying!
I'm so tired of having to defend a person's honor when I'm asked about their conviction. I want to say 'why' does it matter, they've served their time? Don't they also deserve to live & be w/family? How is their life any less valuable than ppl like me or you?
To make matters worse they tried to tell Patti & 4 other women it's the flu. They had to literally beg ICE to test them. Now they are all COVID-19 positive & isolated together. But one person fell violently ill & was taken to the hospital. Patti is also high risk & now coughing.
I feel so much pain for Patti b/c I know what it's like to have COVID. It's one of the most painful experience to go through, yet for me I was able to heal in the comfort of my home. Incarcerated ppl are left to fend for themselves as prisons & detentions do not care.
But we do care for Patti & everyone who is suffering in cages & will keep pushing to get as many ppl free so they can heal & be w/ family. For now, we are going to help Patti recover & prepare her for this wretched deportation. Pls look out for next steps in support of Patti.

Talked to Patti this morning. Still coughing, yet lots of fatigue, her oxygen level is within normal range, dropped over 5 lbs within last 2 days. She confirmed that all 6 wmn in her pod tested positive & they are only getting Tylenol for pain relief. Not surprise to hear that..
a laundry staff tested positive for COVID, so they've yet to have clean clothes for over 2 weeks. That's so cruel to make them wear the same clothes that is now infected w/COVID. That's ICE, they could care less about your health & safety.
