Instead of attacking you based on this statement, I'd ask this: Would you be open to a conversation that would properly inform you as to the implications of what you're saying? I'm not saying a conversation with me in particular. But someone that can be reasonable and concise.

Yeah, I'm afraid of that dude. But there definitely ARE ppl that say that w/o understanding implications of/ context in which it was created. I just don't like when people demonize before we try to inform and educate. Polarization is how we lose as reasonable, good people.

It's an empathy thing as well as coded language thing in my opinion. Understanding why that statement (and other similar sentiments) is more insidious than people think. Empathy in terms of understanding where people are coming from in terms of privilage. Empathy is the key.

1. Think about it like this: A multitude of races (Native Americans, Blacks, Chinese, Japanese) are genocided, enslaved, pseudo-enslaved and interned throughout American history by whites. For 300 years or so this goes on and is swept under the rug because that's the system.
-
4. Then within months, we have an obvious "anti-oppression" movement. "Snowflake" and mockery of "safe-spaces" are examples of this. With this mockery of blatant government oppression of specific peoples, people became more outraged which is causing this "Being white is okay".

Do I sense a presidential run in a few years??
-
I'd unironically vote for
@notch if he ever ran for president. -
Nothing he says is wrong. At least, that's what I've been thinking since I started following him. He's one of the most reasonable, down-to-earth people I know. And every time I read one of his tweets, it makes me sad that more people aren't like him.
-
Yeah, I came because he's the mind behind Minecraft, but I stayed because he's a cool and reasonable dude. The world could always use more cool and reasonable dudes.

No, it's the idea that even across wealth barriers, different groups of people have vastly different experiences. A rich black person, of course, has less problems than a poor white one, but they are still treated differently. The individualism stuff is psuedoprofound bullshit.
-
I don't understand how the fact that a shitload of actual white supremacists popping out of the woodwork to cheer you on isn't a sign for you to consider if you're being reactionary.
-
I have yet to see a single person celebrating white supremacy. I think your perception is clouded by something dark.

https://twitter.com/blaze_spon?s=09 nothing says "i'm not a neo-nazi" like tweeting
#jewwatch.

My kids love Minecraft. But even my almost-10yo knows you’re wrong.
-
Woke 10 yo thinks it's not ok to be white. Gee I wonder why.
-
“It’s okay to be white” is the message of nearly every book, text book, TV show, film, and newspaper on the planet. If you feel the need for more reassurance, you’re *really* fragile.pic.twitter.com/zwJTR689tw

A little secret: this is just a honeypot to attract anti-white racists. Nobody actually feels unaffirmed.
-
A little secret: People who say “anti-white racists” are ignorant af.
