My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.

You have to believe that people can change, redeem themselves, who you are 10 years ago can be vastly different than the present.Saying that though, families are still hurting and angry, why put the tweet out on such a touchy subject? Knowing the responses he’d get, what’s the point?

People can change, but when they do it doesn't negate their crime.

one of the points of prison is to make it more difficult for dangerous people to kill again

It doesn't matter if he redeems himself or changes. A crime like that is unforgiveable, full stop.
