There are strict rules with legal consequences which prevent you voting on your financial interests if you are a board member & director of a company. We don't allow it in the private sector, so why do we tolerate it in public life? It's a racket! #GE20
The employment of 25 staff represents a very significant contribution to society on its own.
Pharmacies provide an essential service to citizens, as well as employment as SMEs.
Are you suggesting that practicing pharmasists should be excluded from Dáil Éireann?

I'm pitching to champion SMEs & probity in politics. No hiring of relatives (her sister is her Dáil ass't), no voting on issues you profit from (she voted on housing as a landlord with multiple properties) & rules on 2nd jobs/ businesses.TDs are paid for full time jobs! #GE2020

Surely it’s better that they know about running businesses and not career politicians ? Would rather someone knows what’s going on than some fool that was leader of debate team at uni and goes into politics as a career!
The point is they shouldn't vote on financial conflicts of interests & we need rules on 2nd jobs & no hiring of relatives. If the racketeering FGers are so great at business why do we have the most expensive hospital in the world that had no proper tender process? #GE2020
Hey, just to clarify - this is old info and we no longer own any of these properties. I had to declare them when I was elected as a TD because of my husband’s interests. Apologies, but the register hasn’t been updated to reflect this. Transparency and honesty is important.
Kate claims she's divested of property in the last 12 mths but won't provide updated interests & won't answer if she interviewed for her Dail assistant, a job her sister has. Rules are needed for all TDs in this culture. It's fair & proper to ask (& answer) these questions #ge20pic.twitter.com/dD85sm1GJr
To add. Kate O'Connell is the only TD in DBS who hires a relative & has voted on housing as a property owner. Jim O'Callaghan is the only other TD with a 2nd job & is a practising barrister. His cases include representing Sean Gallagher in his defamation case against RTÉ #ge20
