One of my better friends from my time back in Pune is a Dawoodi Bohra, originally hailing from Gujarat. We kept in touch and he lives in Seattle now. Now I am debating whether I should ask him about this or not, particularly because he has a young daughter.

People can be weird about community traditions.. I knew a Nigerian doctor (Christian) in the US, totally sane and smart, who tried to convince me that it is very important for normal sexual function.. I did not ask if his daughters had it done (he told me his wife did)

Yeah, that's why I am wondering if I should even bring it up. It would disgust me to no end if he put his daughter through it. And this is a man who otherwise has been as cordial and accomodating to me as anyone could be in the past.

Do you feel this way about every Muslim that has sons? Because Bohra female circumcision is less harmful and damaging than Muslim male circumcision.
