Laughing to myself as socialism’s defenders exclaim “but its MARGINAL tax rates!”, as if that makes the 70% proposal any more ethical or intelligent. We know the rates are marginal. Doesn’t change the argument.

One of the most pernicious practices in journalism today is when reporters find something on social media (say, a video of a young woman dancing), troll for critical reactions then fabricate a trend story based on one or two tweets from relative nobodies.

Everyone should follow this guy. Smart, kind, and he served our nation as a SEAL. Now he’s just a congressman.

As the Chinese are demonstrating today, it's amazing what hard working American scientists can accomplish when foreign powers steal their work

No one thinks this is scandalous. Dance away (was actually pretty good). What is scandalous is increasing income taxes to 70%. It’s wholly unethical for anyone to work a majority of the year just to give their money to the government. Dancing’s great, but ideas matter more.

I'm reading a fascinating book about how our ideology influences what we *want* to see the world and how that interferes powerfully with the actual information hitting our eyeballs and I can't think of a better example than this.

How can I delegitimize people who disagree with me politically? I would like them to just shut up so I don't have to refute their points intelligently. This seems easier.

The only real reason to freak out about this is the picture of a Marine qualifying with a Rifle Combat Optic (RCO). Bring back iron sights for entry-level training! Keep RCOs for follow-on training and annual quals.

AOC’s national aspirations will implode in 2028 when the now thoroughly socialist Democratic Party unearths the scandalous decade-old clip of her calling for a mere 70% marginal rate on the rich

Certainly the country was founded on radicalism, the idea that “all men are created equal” being the most radical of them all. But too often people confuse radicalism with virtue. Absent grave injustice, radicalism is often annoying and wrong.

my suspicion is that where Wilson’s comments treated as an appalling breach of decorum, protests/outbursts/walkouts will be lionized in the press as brave truth telling. I’m not a media conspiracy theorist, but i also wasn’t born yesterday. I’ve seen this movie before.
