I've heard people make this claim, but it all seems to be based on a screenshot rather than something definitive. Do we know that for sure?

"CBC News has not been able to independently verify whether the Facebook post was, indeed, written by Minassian or created after that fact and intended to mislead." I'd have very little difficulty accepting it as true, but I wouldn't feel comfortable asserting that it is.

It would be a really dangerous escalation if that turns out to be the explanation. They certainly didn't show any restraint in labelling it a "mental illness" issue, despite any evidence of that.

I'm sure you've noticed how much that one fucks me off. Hatred, resentment and online group chat are not mental illnesses or symptoms. Sigh. Let's see what happens... Those poor families.
