    For disinfo researchers. Curious to know what other significant cases there are of deepfakes of leaders in conflict areas. Or is this an early instance of something many have warned about?

    Pausing to appreciate some excellent reporting. Last night was one of the most intense scrambles I've seen among journalists, OSINT folks, and nuclear security/safety experts. Geoff's reporting among the best of it. Now somebody get him a coffee or something.

    From all this research, here's my main takeaway: social media doesn't escalate crises. It is largely targeted at domestic audiences. Nonetheless, it can amplify dangerous narratives and create information echo chambers. So best advice, during crises: stop tweeting.
