Nearly a dozen candidates for Governor signed the
#NoNRAMoney pledge including every Dem running to replace @FLGovScott, who once touted his A+ NRA rating & bragged he'd “signed more pro-gun bills into law in one term than any other governor in Florida history.”Show this thread -

The NRA only contributed $5.7 million to 535 members of Congress during the contentious 2016 election cycle - peanuts. So if you think politicians are being bought off by the
#NRA, you're seriously mistaken or we have some cheap politicians@NRATVpic.twitter.com/eMvrw5WaHs

Right, it's much more complicated than just direct donations. It's a whole system of the NRA rating every candidate and running ads FOR and AGAINST candidates based on their ratings. All that advertising and campaign money doesn't get counted in the contribution totals.
