The Senegal adventure begins! Five weeks here, and the first day mopping up a few bits in the Gambia was good fun. This Caspian Plover has been there a fortnight or so, but thoughts now on the Casamance area of Senegal.

UK citizens are losing our European citizenship because of Brexit. is the campaign for an EU associate membership scheme that would give us the option to continue as EU members as individuals. Worth a try!

Willow Tit song and calls. The song period begins now and last until mid April. British Willow Tits have only one song type, the tsiu-tsiu-tsiu you can hear here, inbetween the taah-taah-taah calls.

The Marsh Tit song period started in earnest about a week ago, being most active on mild sunny mornings. It'll reach a peak in March then quiet by late April. This is the common 'chip-chip-chip' song variant. MT songs vary a lot, somewhere btwn Great Tit & Coal Tit in tone.

I want this common street scene to raise alarm bells for anyone that sees it. nest sites are so easily lost. Not so in this case. homeowner made aware and re-pointing work will continue but nest holes will be left alone.
