Astronomers who might be 'struggling' to find some DEI efforts to support as the Astro 2020 Decadal Survey mentions, I would recommend financially supporting with our efforts. Following the account and checking out the website would be 👌.

One thing that dads don’t hear enough is that it’s ok to ask for help. Your emotions are real. Your feelings are valid. You are worth it. You don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. You don’t have to do it alone.

Being adults has little to do with it, the average adult does not understand the experience of other or empathize enough. The average adult that takes part in astrophysics research or pedagogy is in a position of privilege that prevents them from “knowing” 2/3

No disrespect to survey than had many excellent suggestions for the next decade of astronomy. But one sentence stuck with me from the briefing. “We are all adults we should know how to behave” is not a good take on . It’s basically what got us here 1/3

  12. It's an easy trap to fall into: astronomers/physicists dipping into social science without any expertise or input from social scientists. Good call retracting the work!

still downloading the report but this key takeaway is SO important. "NASA, NSF, DOE, and professional societies should ensure that their scientific integrity policies address harassment and discrimination by individuals as forms of scientific misconduct."
