idk why this always feels embarrassing to admit but I’m one of the very few people I know who reads avidly but likes ebooks to the point where I own very few physical books

the physical books I own are either gifts or books that aren’t in print/obscure enough that they aren’t available as ebooks (like barthes’ the neutral). I do enjoy buying secondhand editions of books I particularly love

So true. I did, however, buy hardcover editions of some of my favorite books as a visual cue and an alternate way to consume the same material. That hasn’t happened very often though

Same. Also, I read a couple of books in parallel, and I like to choose depending on the mood. There are books I can't read if I'm tired, and I don't want to carry all that weight around.

All good reasons, actually. What annoys me is the feeling that I don't understand anything about what I read on an ebook, as if my brain kept jumping around

Totally ditto these three reason for preferring ebooks. However, I do regularly buy both the ebook and paper of good books, to increase serendipity/good conversation when myself or others browse my bookshelves, and for lending to others. ...Paper books as fungible inspiration

Every time I've moved I was like "is it time to convert to ebooks yet"? Now I just need more room
