my mental model for most interpersonal problems is "don't worry about it and it'll sort itself out" which actually works shockingly well 99% of the time

my theory is that most people sabotage themselves by responding in weird extreme ways during conflict/tension and actually if you leave it alone most situations just resolve naturally

being a life coach sounds nice bc most smart people hurt themselves by overengineering so you could literally help people by convincing them to chill tf out

Very different to my experience. Are you sure it's not a false perception of resolving itself is really that you just start accepting the result. I find acceptance is misunderstood as something resolving naturally.

If there is a current default that is good for one person and bad for another, 50 percent of the people in the relationship will think the situation will resolve naturally if no one does anything.

I was v obsessive compulsive as a kid and mostly grew out of it but still have this thing where I’m irrationally triggered by package delivery, like if packages are late or misdelivered it pains me to no end and I have no idea why 😭😭

Replace "interpersonal problem" with "work emails" and it remains ridiculously accurate.

Sometimes... unless you're dealing with a real, durable conflict. People are not always compatible and there's nothing quite like getting stuck working closely with someone you will never get along with.
