was there a point-of-view in visually observing the words ? or some more direct purely textual perception

essentially the entire dream was a short story and there were movie-like visuals but everything was being narrated (almost like reading a story out loud with images overlaid). I was *aware* it was a story so I had some sense of self but my body wasn’t in the dream
