does anyone have any good handstand tips? I can get into it but I can’t hold it stably for more than a few seconds

Hi! I’ve been practicing yoga/handstands for ~5 years. The biggest game changers for me: - keep arms as straight as possible - push hard against the ground - shift more weight into fingertips from palms - point your toes, engage glutes - gaze at one point Hope this helps!

Hello, thank you! Couple qs: when you first got a stable handstand, was it with both legs together or offset? And at what point did you start doing them completely away from the wall? I currently do it about a foot or two away from the wall.

I first learned kicking up with one leg, bringing it up staggered, and then lifting the other. Took me ~1.5 years to learn to bring both up at the same time with confidence and stability!

If possible I reco moving fully away from the wall sooner rather than later. I personally don’t find full engagement if I know the wall will catch me (even now, and even if it’s a few feet away). What worked for me to get over my fear of falling was practicing outside on grass!
