just texted a friend about a chocolate bar and fb showed him an ad for it 10 minutes later so they’re clearly reading texts, anyone know how they’re doing that on ios?

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20902863/how-can-we-access-message-from-imessage … I just don’t know if they are allowed to be reading iMessages though. I think Ava’s iPhone might have generated metadata for the photo, and then that was compared against her meta data for the message

As for generating the meta data: https://www.aclweb.org/anthology/N18-1078 … This is actually something I’ve done myself in small tests. It’s pretty easy for Apple to scale, they can probably do it locally with a distilled model
