This is interesting. I don't discount the possibility of changing social roles, but I wonder if diet also has something to do with it? We are also a heck of a little bigger than we were 70 years ago as well.

This doesn't seem right. One of the statements is : "Women in the Netherlands consistently talk in deeper voices than women in Japan" Wouldn't this be more easily explained by physiological differences in body structure than social dynamics?
