yeah! my guess is that many ppl don't have much voice in their daily lives, so writing reviews gives them that voice (and benefits everyone else)

Sorry, I guess I don't understand how. Social and financial credit are surely a couple... but I think they're made on the potential of providing consumer protection via the totality of information for informed decisions and we are human beings helping one another in general.

I think we are reaching a point though where reviews are just not helpful. I rarely look at a google rating or amazon rating unless it’s like below 4 when making a decision.
