This is just wrong. Test-and-Trace + masks + distancing can suppress coronavirus and allow a partial return to normality until we get treatment/vaccine (which is likely, and not a "miracle"). that's not what herd immunity means. Problem with the UK's initial, diastrous non-response was that they were proposing zero mitigation strategies at all.

Also, what do you think about the serosurveys that show 20% of the people in NYC have experienced COVID? That’s only two doublings away from herd immunity and it seems hard for me to imagine us holding the cases down to less than two more doublings.
