Nihilism makes no sense. Attempts at 'not caring' are ineffective as we are guided by combinations of instinct and physiological responses. Even if involuntary thoughts and actions aren't taken into account, rendering living as 'meaningless' is intrinsically purposeful.

It is in your nature to care, hell, you are the physical embodiment of caring! Caring a corporeal manifestation of time and organic chemicals -- cycles of flinches and impulses are engrained in your being. Even a psychopathic schizoid runs from a fire.

if the states of caring don’t have any semantic content but are only reflective, reducible to physiological ones, well, that’s nihilism too

meaning and purpose don’t structure the states — they’re just response mechanisms

it’s “meaningfulness” that makes no sense, you need something supernatural to get there — which is why destroying the machines with fire and erasing written language is our only hope

Yes, but these responses are what constitutes meaning and purpose to a person, in a psychological sense. Meaning is fabricated inside us despite of language and machinery.

if it’s just a physiological response then it doesn’t “mean” much, it’s just a biological system that can’t control it one way or the other that evolved those mechanisms because of evolutionary adaptive advantages over millions of years in random walking iterations

Yes life is meaningless in a cosmic sense! I'm merely mentioning our inability to live it. We can recognize nihilism, yet we can't employ it, at the end of the day, our pupils dilate and our hearts race regardless of our conception of meaning.

By 'live it' I mean, employ nihilism in our lives. It is biologically impossible.

just the opposite, you haven’t escaped it — you point at your stomach and think it’s sounds are “meaning”, but they are just a hungry growl

It never was meaning, and it never will be. Yet we can't act like we have the ability to recognize 'meaninglessness'. Doing so is a gross distancing of humans from their own nature.
