A photo of Dave Brown in his baseball cap and jersey is in the center, with the caption: "Dave Brown (Negro)". At the bottom, a description reads: "Age 28 years. Height 5 feet 11 inches. Weight 165 pounds. Seal-brown colored skin, kinky hair, very erect. He is a professional ball player and pitched for the Lincoln Giants up to the time of the crime. He may be found playing with some other colored baseball club. Shot and killed Benjamin Adair in front of 69 W. 135th Street on April 28, 1925. He has been indicted for this crime and a bench warrant issued for his arrest. If located, arrest and hold as a fugitive from justice and advise the Detective Division. Kindly search your prison records as this man may be serving a sentence for some minor offense. Richard E. Enright, Police Commissioner."
