(For anyone appalled that I laughed about destroying the W'burg Bridge [actually in "The City Born Great," https://www.tor.com/2016/09/28/the-city-born-great/ …], note that I also said it was my favorite bridge and one of the formative places that helped me become a writer, but I guess that got cut, alas.

In the book, the incident is treated seriously, as another possible-terrorist tragedy a la 9/11. But I laughed bc as a writer, you have to be willing to "murder your darlings," so that was my little psychosymbolic sacrifice.)
