But how do you sell short stories, novellas and novels? How to get them published? The Sci-fi/Fantasy community is becoming truly global. What if you are in Kenya or in Malaysia, India or Pakistan? Even from the UK I am befuddled.

Take a visit to the http://SFWA.org website, and browse their Resources-->For Authors. You don't have to be a member to brows lots of informative articles there. That's what helped me get started, years ago!

Not sure I'd agree with that. In theory I was "really good" somewhere in my 40s; my life expectancy given family history is somewhere in my 80s. We're ready when we're ready.

If you are in your 20's it is pretty safe to say it's too late to be an Olympic gymnast, ice skater or Miss Teen USA. Everything else is possible.
