Yes. I'm selective, but given my course content, I believe in expressing anger, outrage, etc & saying things are f'd up when they're f'd up. & I want my class to be a space where we feel/ say that & then develop a language for describing conditions that create those feelings.

Yup. Typically for emphasis/comedic effect (and never, ever directed at a student), but I also, for example, used some choice words while teaching Gauguin last week to describe his behavior. I'm waiting for a student complain about it in evals, but it hasn't happened yet.

Haha, right? But, yes, absolutely agree never directed at a student. Emphasis/comedy sounds just about right!
