  7. This is from David Kirkpatrick's book Facebook Effect published 2010. So FB has had nearly a decade of time & resources to think about these icky questions as it expanded. Just something to keep in mind!

  16. in a week both Sheryl Sandberg & Eric Schmidt invoked China as a reason not to regulate tech--an old defense, used by other industries. It implies that what's good for Facebook & Google is good for U.S., even while partnering w/the same Chinese competitors
