    Probably because only a fraction of the money is ultimately being spent. The rest will be invested/saved and doesn't end up in consumer markets.

    Agreed! Are there currently any decentralized options? E.g., store video feed on IPFS and share / alert with trusted neighbors, friends and family?

    Also, between Ring’s disgusting collaboration with the police, their horrendous track record on protecting users from camera take-overs, and now this revelation that employees have access video, you should not let any Ring products in or outside your house.
