They could’ve gone with a percentage of debt instead of a hard figure. This way it doesn’t really make a difference in some folks lives and the difference will be eaten uo quickly by interest anyways

So close to true. Black men & women hold on avg. $52,000 in debt, but the average balance for whites is not $12,000 it's $27,000. As stated simple math is too complex. From the article, "Black ... graduates owe an avg of $25,000 more ... loan debt than White grads.

Anecdotal evidence doesn’t outweigh tangible data. Happy that you ended up in that position, but you should’ve graduated with better critical thinking skills than believing your experience outweighs the systemic evidence.

Let’s add the fact that Black women l, due to structural racism, also earn less in their lifetimes, so, greater need for loans at the front end and longer time to pay off, even controlling for the same amount of debt. The whole thing is disgusting.

In John McWhorter’s book Woke Racism, he talks about how college shouldn’t be emphasized so much, and how trade schools and such should be more emphasized for everyone. Was a good read.
