This is great advice. Writing well has done just as much for me as knowing how to code. I'd add that if you're intimidated by writing, start a blog and write often about something you're interested in. You'll get better. At least that's what I've done for the past 10 years. :)

99 smartphones are transported in a handcart to generate virtual traffic jam in Google Maps. Through this activity, it is possible to turn a green street red which has an impact in the physical world by navigating cars on another route!

In the tradition of xxxToVec - here is Time2Vec - pretty interesting - represent time as a learned embedding - might try this with some eeg data.

Is this a graph layout question only or about dtrees? I still prefer dtreeviz for dtree part :) (though it could use better layout). didn't have time to run on bulldozer, but here is sample for others.

One of the nice things about Andrew Gelman's blog is how benign posts routinely produce deep debates about foundations of statistics. This time, the concept of "calibration" (see comments): My attitude (new box in 2nd ed of my book):

The cool kids may be moving to TabNet and NODE, mind you, although I don't have real-world experience of these yet.

Our forthcoming book dives deep into different tabular modeling approaches, with many experiments. But I'll save you from reading the whole thing, and just show you the conclusion.

If you're running xgboost, lgbm, or other forest based models in production you need to check out our new forest inference library. 40x faster predictions, cheaper than cpu and way less rack space.
