On call for Nottingham Neurology and i realised there is an epidemic of nitric oxide induced spinal cord and nerve damage. Terrifying to see paralysed young people from laughing gas canisters.

Awful. I presume that this is due to nitric oxide induced B12 deficiency?

Absolutely. Over the last 20 years I managed 4 patients with neurological complications of b12 deficiency but this week on call I managed 4 nitric oxide induced b12 functional deficiencies. Hence I think it’s a crisis

It kills your spinal cord with prolonged use. Some never recover. Have seen plenty in Cardiff. Here was my view from my car door last year when I parked up in Roath Park for a run

Agree - I have seen two cases in the last 12 months with cord involvement … also now easy for people to buy large canisters of the stuff intended for use in catering industry …

Interesting! How many new cases of SCDC have you seen last year? I suspect like me, none!!
