For that matter, why even have NaN to begin with?
@samth Because they are expected to occur? Or it's just too painful having the machinery to manage them? If the latter, why signaling NaN?

@nikomatsakis I think the latter, and I've never seen a signaling NaN in the wild, but I don't really know. -
